Tom and Lynn Manson, owners of the Pennington House B&B
Tom and Lynn Manson are the owners of The Pennington House Bed & Breakfast.  When they aren't busy working at Pennington House, they keep busy at their farm.  Tom is a crop farmer and runs a 2,000 head hog confinement finishing operation.  They have 2 married sons, three grandchildren and a Pomeranian dog Mitzi.

This house has always been a private home until they purchased and converted it into a B&B in 2006.  The house was built in 1909 and in 2009 there was a 100 year birthday celebration party.   On a Sunday afternoon in August there was an open house for the public with carriage rides, live music, style show from River Junction in McGregor, IA., food and speeches.  The day was complete with a birthday cake holding 100 candles that were lit and Happy Birthday was played along with an audience singing.  All this was held on the front porch and lawn.  It was a beautiful day and so much fun.

The house as well as its original owners, Charles and Martha Pennington, is very rich in history and quite interesting, of which Tom and Lynn are happy to share stories with their guests.

The Mansons have done several things to the house since purchasing it including: new windows, new bathroom, remodeled the three seasons porch, new porch railings on the front of the house, the basement has all been remodeled for accommodations.  The attic is currently being remodeled for additional accommodations.

Pennington House Bed and Breakfast requires a lot of work but the Mansons enjoy doing the work themselves and feel it deserves to be cared for as it has been with the past six owners.
