The Pennington House is located on First Street in Sumner, Iowa, which is commonly viewed as Main Street. The house is situated just west of downtown Sumner and is located on the North side of the road.

Parking is only permitted on the west side of the North/South road (Division St) or in the driveway as space is available. It is not the responsibility of the Pennington House for improper parking techniques used that may result in a parking violation issued by the city, such as parking the wrong way on the street or parking where parking is not permitted (signs are clearly posted).
